Recent changes in Safety & Health legislation – the Safety, Health and Welfare Act 2005 – has brought the issue of drugs and alcohol addiction into focus in the workplace.
Though regulations have not yet been introduced around mandatory testing in Ireland, this is a problem every organisation is facing today and will face in the future.
It is vital as an organization to have the appropriate policies and procedures in place to properly manage the issue of drugs and alcohol in the workplace and to ensure that employees are trained to handle a colleague presenting with addiction.
Managing individual situations can require sensitivity and clarity.
AHR works with client companies in:
- Handling individuals presenting with addiction problems
- Policy formulation
